Hello Weddings and Events

A BIG FAT INDIAN WEDDING

Once upon a time, in the vibrant city of New York, a beautiful young lady found herself dining at a Moroccan restaurant called Souk. It was there that she met a tall and charming young gentleman. Was it love at first sight? Perhaps—but what we do know is that they courted each other for a while, keeping their budding romance hidden from the lady’s father for just a little longer. And so, their love story began in a New York Moroccan restaurant, where Jay found his spice, and Mahek found her sunshine.

Their wedding celebration was as grand as their love, featuring six meticulously planned events, each customized to reflect the bride’s unique style. We worked closely with her to ensure that every detail had meaning, starting with an epic Sangeet in blue—her husband-to-be’s favorite color. What a party it was! With the Ragar Boys as the band, an incredible DJ who had played at the Ambani wedding, and the most heartfelt dances, the highlight being her little brother’s solo performance, which brought tears to many eyes.

The following day, the festivities continued with a lively Carnival-style pool party. The event was filled with games and led by the same charismatic MC who had dazzled guests at the Ambani wedding. The party ended with the groom, bride, and even the father of the bride taking a dip in the pool. At that moment, he realized the magnitude of this lavish celebration and couldn’t resist joining in the fun.

That evening, we hosted a Souk-themed dinner, a nod to the place where their love story began. We transformed the venue into a vibrant market, complete with spices, textiles, poetry, and even a fire-eater, creating an authentic experience at the Oberoi.

The wedding day arrived, and it was nothing short of magical. The ceremony took place amidst a breathtaking floral masterpiece by Anand Karan. The bride’s joy was palpable as she saw the stunning setup, and as a wedding planner, it was a heartwarming moment to witness. The ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, with impeccably dressed groomsmen and bridesmaids as sweet as can be. The mother of the bride could finally relax, knowing she had ensured every tradition was honored to perfection for her beloved daughter.

The bride wished for a private moment to exchange rings with her husband before the grand reception dinner. We created an enchanting mandala of over 1,000 square meters of candles, transforming the space into a scene straight out of a movie. As the couple walked toward each other, it was as if the stars had descended to the floor just for their special moment.

The reception dinner was an extraordinary affair, set on a canal with a dance floor that featured the largest mirror effect anyone had ever seen. The setup was flawless, and the surprise performance by the famous Manj took the party to another level, setting the dance floor on fire. As the night reached its peak, the property hosted its first-ever fireworks display in honor of this special couple.

We still adore them to this day.
